No Bags Allowed in the Park

Visitors are not allowed to bring items into the park that offer concealment, such as purses, handbags, fanny packs, backpacks, camera bags, diaper bags, luggage, etc. Visitors may bring cameras, cell phones, and wallets. Since no bags are allowed, you are encouraged to pack lightly! You will only be able to keep with you what you can put in your pockets or hold in your hands.

What is allowed: wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, canes, umbrellas, jackets, sweaters, small wallets, medication, small cameras and camcorders, cell phones, and small sealable beverage containers are permitted and subject to inspection.

The USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park operates a storage facility just to the right of the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center entrance. There is a storage fee of $3 per bag. Storage is available daily from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Visitors may use the same bag storage and parking stall for visits to all Pearl Harbor Historic Sites. These security measures are strictly enforced at all visitor destinations on Pearl Harbor.

Secure Your Vehicle

Please do not leave valuables in your car. Also, please be sure your vehicles are locked and secured. Although federal law enforcement officers and security bike patrols monitor the parking lots, the National Park Service cannot be held responsible for any items that may be stolen from your vehicle.

Medical Concerns

There are no doctors or nurses on site. EMS is available and a hospital is nearby. The park is in ADA compliance and handicap accessible. If you have a medical need, notify the staff at the security checkpoint. In addition, please let a park ranger know if you have any special needs.

Walking the distance between facilities can be challenging for visitors with mobility issues, although there are several benches located throughout the visitor center to facilitate rest opportunities.

Note: The visitor center does not offer wheelchairs, except in emergency situations.

In addition:

• Please remember to take all medication as prescribed.

• Begin hydration well before your arrival and continue to hydrate as you tour the Pearl Harbor Historic Sites.

• Concessions, vending machines, and restrooms are located throughout all the sites.

• Pace yourself as you tour the different sites.

• Always stay in the designated areas and routes and please respect all safety signage.

Accessibility

Our goal is to make our park as accessible to all our visitors as possible.

The Pearl Harbor Visitor Center has reserved accessible parking in the front lot. The restrooms, movie theater, exhibit galleries, bookstore, information desk and drinking fountains, Navy shuttle boats, and USS Arizona Memorial are all fully-accessible to visitors in wheelchairs.

For visitors with hearing impairments, the documentary shown in the theater is fully-captioned (in English). There is an induction loop for use with hearing aids.

Visually-impaired visitors will find signage in braille in addition to tactile models of various interpretive resources throughout the site. We also provide a braille-ready file (BRF), which is a digital copy of an embossed braille booklet transcribed from the park brochure.
